Measuring Guide

Curtains

Width ( for curtains hung from Poles/Tracks)

Measure the width of the window recess from wall to wall and add 15cm each side.

Drop (Pencil Pleat with a Curtain Pole)

Measure the distance from the bottom of the ornamental ring to 1cm above the floor for full length curtains.

Measure the distance from the bottom of the ornamental ring to 5cm below sill for sill length curtains, or 1cm above the sill if you are fitting inside the recess.

Drop (Pencil Pleat with a Curtain Track)

Measure the distance from the top of the track to 1cm above the floor for full length curtains.

Measure from the top of the track to 5cm below the window sill for sill length curtains, or 1cm above the sill if you are fitting inside the recess.

Roman Blinds

Maximum size for Roman Blinds is: Width  127cm x Drop 200cm.

The first decision to make is. Do you want the blind to fit inside or outside the recess? Note if the recess is less than 2.5cm deep, the window opens inwards or there are other obstructions the blind must be fitted outside the recess.

Inside Window Recess

Measure the width and height of the recess exactly. (We will allow working tolerances.) It is advisable to measure the width and height in several places and to quote the minimum width/height.

Outside Window Recess

Decide how much you would like the blind to overlap the recess suggested overlap is 5cm all round (each side, top and bottom). If the blind will block out too much of the window at the top, you could add more to the length if you prefer, and fit the blind higher up.

The blind will come with all fittings and instructions for fixing.
